The sinking in implies a feast of immese proportions confining all to a couch or, for the slower participants, the dining room floor. What it also means is that your kitchen (and house??) is all put back together and wired and plumbed correctly. So, no gas stoves blowing up, no sink water draining to the rooms below, no cabinets crashing down on children skeedaddling through the kitchen as you were performing your works of edible art.
